Anna Williams and Lei Wulong Return, Negan from The Walking Dead in Tekken 7

By Zachery PaikaiAugust 6, 2018
Season 2 of Tekken 7.

A surprise trailer just dropped showcasing Season 2 of Tekken 7; featuring a new wall bounce mechanic, individual character changes/updates, and a wave of upcoming fighters. Please, take a look for yourself:

Let’s make note of the new system mechanic and gameplay changes. Firstly, we seem to have a wall bounce mechanic that juggles opponents in an aerial state once they’ve been flung against a said wall. The classic wall splat still seems present, so it’s unclear what certain conditions must be met to induce a wall bounce. Next noteworthy piece of footage is the little compilation that highlights specific character changes/updates. The entire cast of characters may be receiving some form of an update to their move-sets or gameplan.  Speaking of characters…

The infamous femme fatale with an obsessive rivalry towards her sister is returning in Tekken 7. Anna Williams, Kazuya Mishima’s own personal bodyguard is back to lay to rest all those who are beneath her. Especially Nina Williams, who Anna harbors an unwavering grudge against.

Anna Williams revealed for Season 2.
Eat your heart out Nina, the better sister is on the scene.

Are you a fan of police officers that hold a mastery of the martial arts? Maybe a fellow who has a lax attitude with a happy-go-lucky personality, hmm? If so, then Lei Wulong is your guy. This lovable fellow is back as is his unique fighting style of the Five Animals Form (a style of Chinese martial arts). A comedic cop with a knack for fighting, this guy could easily star in the leading role of a future Rush Hour film.

There was one more big reveal that I’m sure no one was expecting. A crossover collaboration that seems utterly unprecedented. Negan of AMC‘s The Walking Dead will be an upcoming DLC character for Tekken 7. Now Season 2 was already looking promising, but the addition of this outlandish guest character really seals the deal. Tekken 7 now houses Akuma from Street Fighter, Geese from Fatal Fury, Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, and now Negan of The Walking Dead. Do we now live in the golden age of fighting games, where dreams are a reality?

Negan of The Walking Dead teased for Tekken 7's Season 2.
Here’s the quick tease of Negan. And yes, this is indeed real.

Tekken 7 is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

From the Hawaiian islands, Nanaue, the Prince of Sharks first appeared. This shark man was uncontested in terms of video game prowess. His notoriety of being a top-tier game wiz angered the envious locals and eventually forced Nanaue into exile. His hunger for competition and game knowledge grew as time past. This in tow, leads him to delve into the sea of writing and gaming culture.
