E3 2018: The World Ends With You -Final Remix- Comes to Switch This Fall

By Josh PiedraJune 12, 2018
The World Ends With You

Nintendo announced during its E3 Direct conference that The World Ends With You -Final Remix- is headed to the Nintendo Switch this fall. An actual date has not yet been set in stone.

This version of the game will feature enhanced HD visuals and a brand-new scenario. The original Nintendo 3Ds version featured a dual-combat system using the buttons to control the battle on the top screen and the touchscreen to control the battle on the bottom screen. On the Switch version, you will be using both Joy-Cons to control the battles or you can use the touchscreen on the device itself.

The game originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2007 in Japan (as Subarashiki Kono Sekai) and in 2008 for the West. An updated version called The World Ends With You -Solo Remix- was launched for Apple iOS in 2012 and for Android in 2014. The mobile version of the game contained a secret ending depicting a brand new headphone-wearing female character. This character appeared in the trailer for Final Remix when the new scenario was mentioned.

The only downside to this is now I have to grind back up to Level Star and get all my pins maxed out once again. The perils of 100% completing a game only to see it re-released on another console. Thank God it’ll still have one of the best soundtracks in gaming to help me through the grind!
