Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion Bringing Collectibles Into The Mix

By Todd BlackApril 11, 2018
Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion

Nintendo surprised a lot of people when they unveiled the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. This was not only to be the first paid DLC for the Splatoon series, but would allow players to be an Octoling for the first time in a new story mode featuring a new place in the Splatoon world. Now, we’re getting more details on what you can do and who you can meet in the expansion.

Via the Japanese Splatoon Twitter handle, the team unveiled that you’ll be able to get Collectibles in the game called Neli Memories (name subject to change once localized). These “memories” are figures shaped like characters and creatures within the Splatoon universe. You’ll get them by clearing challenges within the game. Check them out via the tweet below:

So, what can you do with these figurines? Well, apparently, there’s a new character named Mr. Gusok (who seems to me and other Twitter readers to look like Golisiopod from Pokemon Sun and Moon) that you can show them to. He’s got a story himself in that he wants to get to a lab facility that is located in underground you’ll be in the for the story.

All of this just adds to the wonder and mystery of the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, which is set to release later this year.
