New Soul Calibur VI Trailer Shows Off Some New And Old Faces

With the release of a new trailer for the upcoming Soul Calibur VI, I am now able to let out a sigh of relief. When Bandai Namco only showed off Sophitia and Mitsurugi, I was a bit worried there.

But that crisis has been averted. With this new video, we see the return of several characters; Kilik, Xianghua, and Nightmare. The latter is an actual incarnation of the Soul Edge weapon and has made an appearance in every Soul Calibur and Soul Edge. Oh, and now he talks in Soul Calibur VI. Kilik and Xianghua, look very similar from the models of the past Soul Calibur games.  Very faithful and I’m glad that they do.

We also got a peek at a newcomer to the series, Grøh. Referred to as the “Agent in Black”, he uses a weapon that resembles a double -bladed sword, that can also be split and dual-wielded during certain moves. Pretty sure this was a required weapon ever since the second Soul Calibur title.

However, that wasn’t all we got. A new feature was shown off at the very end of the trailer. Kilik appears to be possessed by the Soul Edge and gained a new ability called “Blood Lust”. Now I’m not sure if this was mentioned before, but it looks like this is some sort of ultra move. We’ll have to wait for Bandai Namco to release more info on this. But one thing is for sure, it looks pretty dang cool.

Soul Calibur VI will be released PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC  in 2018 in Japan, Europe, and North America.
