Monster Hunter World for PC On Track For A Fall 2018 Release

The PC version of Monster Hunter World comes out when?

Monster Hunter: World, which is being released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, is one of my most anticipated titles of 2018. However, only the PS4 and Xbox One versions have been given a release date. Both of those are being released this month, Jan. 2018.  The PC version release is still in limbo. Or at least it was until a few minutes ago. Yep, we have a release window and you aren’t going to like it at all.

Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of Monster Hunter: World, has just stated that due to the optimizations need for the PC version. We won’t see it until Fall 2018! Yep, the PC version will miss both Spring and Summer of 2018.

I don’t know about you, but that wait will definitely convince me to pick up the title on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. In addition, unless there will be some way to carry over my existing characters to the PC version. I might just pass on the PC version altogether. I’m all for waiting until a game is done to release it. But this is simply ridiculous having the PC release that far behind the console versions.

For those saying, it’s the first Monster Hunter game on PC and that Capcom needs time to get the PC version right. I understand, however, this isn’t the first time Monster Hunter has appeared on the PC. Previously there were Japan-only releases, Monster Hunter Frontier, Monster Hunter Frontier G and Monster Hunter Online. So they have had a bit of exposure with getting Monster Hunter running on the PC platform.

I just hope that this delay doesn’t affect the PC sales or Capcom’s decision to publish on the PC. At the same time, I really hope this doesn’t turn into another Phantasy Star Online 2. You know, the game that SEGA promised would come to North America years ago and has basically vanished into the ether.

Looks like it’s the PS4 or Xbox One version for me now. Monster Hunter: World releases on Jan. 26, 2018, on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That PC version better be flawless.
