Four Major Fire Emblem Characters Coming To Fire Emblem Heroes

By Todd BlackFebruary 11, 2017
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones, Nintendo Switch Online

Fire Emblem Heroes is still setting the world on fire despite it being out for over a week now. The game released special new boss fight yesterday, and has constantly been changing what you can get from day to day. Well now, we know what true heroes are coming next.

During the Fire Emblem 0 Live Stream today (which you can watch here), Heroes Director Shingo Matsushita stopped in unexpectedly (for fans…) and revealed 4 characters that are confirmed to be coming to Fire Emblem Heroes.

First up? Longtime fan favorites Ephraim and Eirika from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Which was the second GBA game for Fire Emblem. Both Ephraim and Eirika actually placed pretty high in the “Choose Your Legends” event, thus proving that fans haven’t forgotten who they are.

Then, in another big surprise, it was revealed that Seliph and Julia from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War was also coming to Heroes. Now, Genealogy of the Holy War was one of the Japan-only title for the Fire Emblem series, but a lot of fans still know what it is. For example, Seliph is actually the son of the first Lord character you control in the game, Sigurd, who dies half-way in. It’s up to Seliph to avenge his father and free his homeland. Oh, and Seliph and Julia are step-siblings…it’s a long story.

What makes this so interesting is that it proves just how quickly Nintendo is moving in regards to getting even more characters into the game. Not just through small events, but through likely updates and DLC. The question now is, will these characters (and presumably more) be put into the “summon categories” we have now, or will new ones be made to house them?

Sadly, no release date was given for any of these character. But hopefully soon we’ll know when we can get them. And be sure to check out the latest episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast for our complete thoughts on the game!
