Photos Of John Boyega From Pacific Rim: Maelstrom Surface

By Keith MitchellNovember 22, 2016

The filming for the Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, is underway and we already have images of actor John Boyega in action. Seems like he’s enjoying himself if these pictures are any indication. In the sequel, he’ll play as the son of Idris Elba’s on screen character, Stacker Pentecost, from the original Pacific Rim film. Fans of the film will recall that Pentcost gave his life while trying to stop two Kaiju from reaching the Gipsy Danger mech.

Pacific Rim: Maelstorm picks up several years after the Kaiju invasions and now that they are a thing of the past, what do you do with the no-longer-needed Jaegers? Did someone say mech battles? Now that would be interesting, though we don’t know the actual plot of the film just yet. Here’s to hoping that the film shapes up to be as good, or even better than the first.

Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is penned by Zak Penn, Derek Connolly, and Guillermo del Toro, directed by Steven S. DeKnight and is slated for a February 2018 release date.
