Earlier in the week, it was reported by Vice Gaming that Sony was planning a special event. Speculation surrounding the event tis that this could be the unveiling of the NEO / PlayStation PS4.5. Sony has since then confirmed that the event is real and will take place on September 7th, 2016, at 3PM EST in New York.

The event will take place at the PlayStation Theather, which happens to be the very same place that the PlayStation 4 was unveiled at. And while Sony has stated what is going to take place at the event, my money is on the NEO announcement that everyone has been waiting for. It’s anyone’s guess on what exactly we’re going to see at the event.

So now for some speculation on my part. I definitely believe that we’ll hear something about the NEO. More importantly, I think that after Microsoft announced the Scorpio, I fully expect Sony to “alter” their announced NEO / PS4.5 specs. Perhaps we’ll get to see a more robust PlayStation 4 revamp? This may also be the reveal of the Slim model PlayStation 4 as well, though I don’t feel that Sony needs this right now.

Only time will tell, as we’re still a month away.

Per Polygon, the event will be streamed, so everyone will get a chance to see what Sony has planned. We’ll update this article as soon as we find out what that link is. Still, we don’t mind getting an invite Sony so we can attend in person. We’re based in New York…. hint.. hint…!
