Sony Announces That the PlayStation VR Will Get $499 Bundle

By Keith MitchellMarch 18, 2016

While Sony announced the price of the PlayStation VR for $399.99, a few things were missing from that price point. Mainly two important items, the PlayStation Camera and the PlayStation Move controllers. And if you haven’t noticed as of late, both those pieces have suddenly gone up in price, likely due to those being in demand as of now. I knew I should have gotten those both when they were super cheap!

While not to worry as Sony has now announced that there will be a PlayStation VR bundle, just not the one with the PlayStation 4, not yet anyway. For an additional $100, you can now get the PlayStation VR bundle that includes everything in the original announcement, plus the PlayStation Move Camera and 2x PlayStation Move controllers for $499.99. Pre-orders for this bundle are expected to go live as of March 22, 2016, however the PlayStation VR won’t be available until October 2016.

It’s been an exciting week for PS VR, but we still have more news to share. Starting at 7:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday, March 22nd, pre-orders will open for the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle at participating retailers.

Exclusively for pre-sale and in limited quantities, this bundle will include:

  • All contents of the PS VR core bundle:
    PS VR headset
    PS VR cables
    Stereo Headphones
    PlayStation VR Demo Disc
  • PlayStation Camera
  • 2 PlayStation Move motion controllers
  • PlayStation VR Worlds (disc)

And while it hasn’t been announced yet, I’ll still calling that their will be a PlayStation VR bundle that includes the PlayStation 4. Just you wait and see.
