Get a Small Taste of the Upcoming Remake of System Shock

By Keith MitchellMarch 15, 2016

Wait a second. Hey, Night Dive, this doesn’t look like the System Shock I remember playing in my younger gaming days. In fact, I’d dare say it reminds me of Dead Space and even SOMA, if I had to be completely honest. But you know what, that’s perfectly fine.

Ladies and Gentleman, I’ll be the first to admit that this short but sweet teaser of the upcoming System Shock remake has left me with goosebumps all over, and that’s a good thing. While I remember the original game like it was yesterday, this remake has a certain vibe that wasn’t present previously. I can’t tell if it just was the atmosphere of System Shock or the fact that while it may have built with the the idea of horror in mind, the limited implications and technology then just didn’t allow for it. Now however, this definitely looks and seems like the horror aspect is well and alive.

And while the game doesn’t ship until sometime in 2017, this short trailer will give you an idea of what to expect and the the status of the game so far. That said, I’ve really liking what I see and this has been put on my “I must play this game” when 2017 rolls around. Until then, keep on feeding us the good stuff, Night Dive.

The remake of System Shock will be released in 2017 for the Xbox One and PC. No mention of a PlayStation 4 port has been announced for far.
