Final Fantasy IX Coming to PC and Smartphones [Update]

Square Enix revealed today that Final Fantasy IX will be releasing on PC and Smartphones.

The official announcement reveals that the classic Playstation RPG will be released “soon” in Japan, and contains the required system specifications for both platforms. You can check out the trailer below.

While this is only confirmed for Japan so far, it’s highly likely that Final Fantasy IX will make its way to PC and Smartphones overseas soon after.

UPDATE: The Steam listing is up and claims availability in Early 2016. Additionally, the Steam page lists new features for the game, including:

  • Achievements
  • Seven game boosters including high speed and no encounter modes.
  • Autosave
  • High-definition movies and character models.
