Persona News Recap: Welcome to the Velvet Room

By William "Shadowz" KokNovember 5, 2014

With Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth fast approaching, ATLUS has released more character videos.  Earlier in the months, we had videos of Teddie and  Yukari Takeba. And now more recently, the residents of the Velvet Room takes the stage. Namely, Elizabeth, Margaret, Theodore and Marie. We also get to see the persona fusion system of the game as well.

Yukari Takeba

Need I say anything about Michelle Ruff’s performance? Such great delivery. Also, that BGM remix from Persona 3. Just like old times.

Teddie

Sam Regal. Teddie may be a bear, but he sure is hammy here. Silliness aside, he understands Rei predicament of not knowing who you are. Also, can’t help but misheard his persona as Kentucky Douji.

And now, Welcome to the Velvet Room.

Elizabeth

Tara Platt remains ever mysterious with the role of Elizabeth. That last few minutes, I thinks its confirmed that we can face her again as a secret boss. I’m still feeling the pain from Persona 3.

Margaret

We hear more of Marisha Ray delivery of Margaret. Its sounds nearly alike to Michelle Ann Dunphry’s. And that deadpan voice at the end. “These sweets are soooo cute.” Hope she still retains the allure of her big sister nature.

Theodore

We finally hear more of Bryce Papenbrooks’ delivery of Theodore. Color me spoiled, but I miss Travis Willingham’s Theodore. It had the elegant, gentleman charm that was so well done in Persona 3 Portable. Bryce’s delivery just reminds me a bit too much of his recent anime roles of Eren Jaeger of Attack on Titan and Rin Okumura of Blue Exorcist. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still give him chance when I get the game myself.

Marie

Eden Regal, sister of Sam Regal. So many games involving this brother and sister duo. Eden keeps that flair of Marie, especially with those famed poems of hers.  So much love from her and her tsundere antics.

And finally the Persona Fusions:

We see here how the persona fusions work. We also hear Fuuka Yamagishi being voiced again by Wendee Lee(Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) Another thing to point out is that this also shows how the other member of the group can now use other personas instead of the main characters.

All I can say is that the month cannot get through fast enough. I want this game!

You can find the rest of the character videos here on The Outerhaven.

Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth will be released on November 25,2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
