Marvel teases Civil War #1 for the Summer of 2015? What?

An interesting email recently hit my inbox. Oddly enough the subject line was titled “Civil War #1 – Summer 2015” and inside of it was an image of Iron Man and Captain America in what seems to be a tug of war with Spider Man (In his Iron Spider costume) being stuck in the middle. And that’s it! No message, nothing that helps me understand what exactly this image is about, nothing. Oddly enough this comes right after Marvel announced their new Secert Wars story arc at the 2014 New York Comic Con, which is also an older story arch that’s being updated.

So what exactly could this mean? Are they going to be re-releasing the Civil War comics? Is this going to be a re-telling of the arc? Your guess is as good as mine, so we’ll just have to wait to see what else Marvel has cooking.

While I did enjoy it the fallout was handled badly. Look at the death of Cap. That and I wish other characters in the Marvel universe that should have included had gotten some spotlight. Doc Strange for example sat out the encounter arch and as an Avenger he should have been included. He didn’t do anything until after Civil War.

No argument here. The reason that Cap stopped fighting, I thought, was pretty silly. And the death of cap thing was so cheap. I would argue that this is the problem of comics… ending are always sort of lame because nothing ever really ends, nothing is ever really resolved, nothing ever really changes… I love how it’s this massive sweeping narrative but you also know that it’s all just darning the air in the same spot. It had a lot of great moments along the way, tho. Especially Cap stuff.

Doc Strange did pop up, by the way, and he said he sat out because he was just too powerful or something. It was weird.
Y’know… IDK… it’s hard to get everyone in. I liked the creation of FRONTLINE tho. I’ve thought something like that should happen since forever.
I’ve not been reading comics lately.

Right. He’s too powerful yet the sentry was on Ironman’s side as was Ms Marvel. Too of Marvel’s powerhouse characters.

I guess some kind of line has to be drawn I suppose.

um…yeah…about this…It could actually be part of the Secret War event, along with the Ultron vs Zombies thing. Take it with a grain of salt.
