The Pokemon Company Donates Money To Japan Following Earthquake

By Todd BlackJanuary 6, 2024
The Pokemon Company

We’re almost a week into the new year, and while many out there have likely already had big moments and memories, it hasn’t been the smoothest time for those around the world. For example, Japan had an earthquake in the year started that caused fatalities, injuries, and plenty of damage. Naturally, support from all over has come for Japan, but one donation that will make many smile is from The Pokemon Company. The game publisher posted on Twitter that they were going to donate around $350,000 to the nation to help with reparations following the natural disaster.

The tweet from The Pokemon Company is below, and here’s what it says translated:

“We would like to express our deepest sympathies to those affected by the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. The Pokémon Company has decided to donate 50 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society and donations to support organizations in order to help those affected by the disaster and to help restore the affected areas. Additionally, through the Pokémon With You Foundation, we will continue to carry out activities to help children affected by the disaster regain their smiles. We sincerely pray for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas.
