Mortal Kombat 1 Ermac Trailer Coming This Week, Ed Boon Says

By Kevin KellyApril 8, 2024

According to Ed Boon and this teaser trailer, Ermac is definitely coming to Mortal Kombat 1. With some “soul connections” to Madame Bo revealed, to the shock of Kung Lao, we have a visual on him within the game. In his tweet, Boon discusses the rumor surrounding Ermac and his history of how he came to be. Mortal Kombat 3 was when he first debuted, but Ermac’s name was derived from “Error Micro” way back when.

30+ years ago we were working on the very first #MortalKombat game. The game's software, had sections of code that it (theoretically) should never reach/execute. If it did, it incremented a counter that would log the ERROR. We also made a "Game Audits" screen where we could check… pic.twitter.com/8Hzq3Teu6T

Ermac’s trailer is promised to be shown sometime this week. Mavado, from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance fame, may also be a new Kameo forthcoming as he is shown in the trailer, too. Homelander and Takeda will end the current season with Spring and Summer releases respectively.
