Stardust Galaxy Warriors releasing on PS4 and Xbox One this month

By Keith MitchellSeptember 6, 2016

Not too long ago, I was made aware of a game called Stardust Galaxy Warriors, which is basically what you’d get if you combined several old school Saturday morning cartoons into a SHMUP. Being the SHMUP fan I am, I tried and was smitten with it. Sadly, when the game was originally released, it was only on the PC. Now, while I’m a huge fan of PC gaming, I’m a gamer and I felt bad that my PlayStation and Xbox brethren were left out. The game is a lot of fun and everyone should experience it.

That’s all about to change. Not only is Stardust Galaxy Warriors heading to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it will do so in its updated edition – Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax. The game will be available on September 9th,2016, and will cost $9.99. For those who already own the original version of the game on Steam, it will be updated to the new version for free.

In Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax, players choose from one of five unique mechs (each with their own superweapon and special ability), a vast arsenal of primary and secondary weapons, and one of over 11 quadrillion possible difficulty settings for a truly customizable co-op experience (Up to 4 players locally). The tongue-in-cheek story takes place over 30 stages, with epic boss battles, and intense rapid-fire action. Players are thrown into experimental mechs and sent to investigate a deep space anomaly.

If you like SHMUP’s with a bit of humor, you just may enjoy Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax. Be sure to check out our review of the original game, Stardust Galaxy Warriors, here.
