Hello Yoshi fanatics everywhere. Today is a good day! Not only were the previews for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book strong, but we also just got an overview trailer for the main game. If you want more Yoshi after the Super Mario Galaxy movie, then this will be the game for you.
The first thing they go over is that Yoshi has ways to interact with the creatures in this Mysterious Book. Yoshi can gobble them up to turn into an egg, throw an egg at them, or tail flick them to have them ride on their back. Whatever action you take against the creature gets illustrated for their reaction in the book. You can groundpound creatures into the ground and have various effects on the ground based on the creature.
When you finish a level in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, the book will go through the interactions and reactions of the creatures in that level. If there is an interaction you have not discovered in the level, it will appear darkened in the book. You can use currency to unlock discoveries in the book. Chapters in the book are unlocked as you go through more pages and discover more about the creatures in the book. This is a game that will be reliant on exploring and interacting with every creature you can find.
Bowser Jr. and Kamek are also in the picture book, looking for something. The boss fights in the game seem to be different contraptions from Bowser Jr. and Kamek. This will probably serve as the ending for most chapters.
