If you’ve played the demo for Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard, or even just heard about it, especially if you’re a fan of Vampire Survivors, and needed another reason to check it out, as if you really did, well, I’ve got one more for you. Legendary video game composer Yoko Shimomura has been involved with the game and has composed its main theme.
Yes, that Yoko Shimomura, best known for her amazing work on games like Final Fight, Street Fighter II, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts. I could go on, but we’d be here for days. So yeah, it’s pretty damned cool to see, or rather hear, what she’s done for the game, and it sounds fantastic.
Check it out for yourself.
Sadly, it looks like the main theme is the only track Yoko Shimomura worked on for the game. Still, don’t let that bother you, because the music in the demo is damned good, an indication that the rest of the music will be on par. I’ve caught myself just sitting there for minutes, listening to it.
As for Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from poncle, I’ll be 100% honest, I’ve never played Vampire Survivors. But on a whim, I downloaded the demo and ended up playing it for hours on my Lenovo Legion Go 2 (before the price hike). I’m not even a fan of deckbuilding games, but for some reason, this one has me hooked. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been a fan of dungeon crawlers, going all the way back to playing the original Phantasy Star on my long-lost SEGA Master System.
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard releases on April 21, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. It’s basically everywhere, which means you really don’t have an excuse to skip this one.
And if you’re still on the fence and me telling you to play it isn’t enough, go download the demo on Steam, give it a spin, and then come back and tell me how addicted you are. Seriously, go play it.
