Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Drops Game’s Opening Sequence

The Saga of the White Whale...

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition

If you’ve been listening to the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast the last several weeks, you’ll know that I, alongside my co-host Scott, am VERY excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition. This is a game that we’ve been anticipating a remaster of for years! We both played the Wii U version and loved it, but once the franchise truly took off on Switch, we hoped this unique part of the series would return and get its due. The game launches on March 20th, but if you want to see a bit of the story beforehand, Nintendo has you covered.

The tweet below features the game’s opening cutscenes, highlighting how Earth was destroyed, but some of its citizens were able to get away via arks. While the “White Whale” was one of those arks, it didn’t have the smoothest of journeys…

That prologue perfectly sets up the player avatar’s situation when they awaken in their pod. Their job is to help a special group within the colony of New Los Angeles not only sustain the human population but also find others that were scattered when the ark went down. Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition has a vast planet called Mira for gamers to check out, and that’s only some of the fun you’ll have when the game launches next month!
