Xbox’s Future Will be Revealed on February 15th

Xbox has nailed down the date for this week’s Xbox business meeting, or as this post states, an Xbox Official Podcast. We’ll hear from Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox), Sarah Bond (President of Xbox), and Matt Booty (Head of Xbox Studios) on February 15, 2024, at 12 PM PT/3 PM ET on the Xbox’s official YouTube channel and other places where podcasts are hosted. So, no, this won’t be a live event.

Please join us for a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast.

The Xbox community has been in rough shape these last few weeks, with rumors and speculation of Xbox going 3rd and ending hardware production, among other things that we’ve all likely heard. It hasn’t been pretty. Last week’s post by Phil Spencer stating that they see the Xbox community’s frustration and that there will be a meeting of sorts that will take place this week didn’t help, as it made everyone wait even longer for some answers.

Hopefully, this podcast will answer the questions and address the frustrations that have been making the rounds as of late.

As of the past three years, Xbox has been busy acquiring companies. First, with the purchase of Zenimax/Bethesda, then in 2023, it completed its acquisition of Activision/Blizzard/King. This made Xbox the owner of several major titles, including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls, Starfield, and Deathloop, to name a few. Of course, there have been frustrations with several Xbox titles, with Redfall falling to exciting and Starfield not being the game everyone hoped it would be.

Sadly, following this, the company saw layoffs in 2022 and 2024, and now there is back and forth on what will happen to the Xbox brand. It’s been a rollercoaster; hopefully, this week will provide some positive news. If not, at least everyone will be on the same page.

I won’t lie and say I’m not vested in this, as I am. I own two Xbox Series X consoles (one for work and one for family) and am a big PC gaming enthusiast. So, I’ll be listening to this podcast along with everyone else.
