Lots of JRPGs from the early 2000s and 2010s never made it to the West, and one such game was WiZmans World on the Nintendo DS. Today, we got an exciting announcement that WiZmans World is getting a remaster that will be launched globally. WiZmans World Re;Try is a remaster of the original game.

Bold adventurers will start their journey as the young wizard Claus, who has come of age to begin his dungeon exploring career. The city of Wizarest has been cut off from the outside world for over a century, with its people living in isolation, stripped of their memories and surrounded by labyrinthine dungeons crawling with monsters. Claus discovers that his mentor and adoptive mother, the prodigal mage and alchemist, Giselle, has been missing since she went into the dungeons last month, and he vows to uncover the mystery behind her disappearance.

The citizens have been trying to navigate the dungeons for years but to no avail, and a century later, no exit has been found. It’s up to you, and the three artificial magical beings left to you by your mentor, Giselle, to explore the perilous dungeons, uncover the secrets behind the town’s and your own memory loss, and confront the force responsible for the world’s decay. Your friendly homunculus companions are able to absorb the souls of defeated monsters and evolve through “Anima Fusion”, allowing you to tailor your companions, changing their stats, abilities and appearance. Every decision you make throughout your adventure will affect your relationship with your companions, influence the storyline, and affect the outcome of the world’s fate, so choose your steps wisely!

WiZmans World Re;Try features:

  • Experience a turn-based game where chain attacks and attributes are key to victory.
  • HD master of the original graphics, while still retaining the 2D pixel art charm.
  • Soundtrack rearrangements and additions, plus a whole host of sound updates and audio enhancements.
  • Music composed by soLi, a Japanese instrumental unit consisting of ISAO, a multi-talented guitarist, and Saori Hoshino, a female violinist who has been highly acclaimed by LIV MOON and various other artists for her brilliant performance skills.
  • Wider language support, bringing WiZmans World Re;Try to even more audiences.
  • A number of quality of life updates to bring the gameplay up to modern day standards, including save anywhere, dialogue skip, New Game+ and Monster Encyclopaedia.
  • A visually appealing, enhanced UI.
  • Turn-based battles, for that true JRPG battle feel.
  • RPG leveling that will delight true adventure fans.
  • Anima Fusion – Tailor your companions, changing their stats, abilities and appearance based on defeated monsters you absorb.
  • All the monster girls you’d ever want to fuse, right at your finger tips.
  • Changing story/dialogue allows you to make decisions throughout the adventure, affect your relationship with your companions, influence the story and the world’s fate.

WiZmans World Re;Try will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 19th, 2026.
