Leading global manga and anime producer VIZ Media, in partnership with Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. (ShoPro), has released the official teaser trailer and key art for the anime adaptation of Keigo Shinzo’s award-winning manga Hirayasumi. The anime is set to debut in 2027.
Serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2021, with its English-language debut through VIZ in May 2024, Hirayasumi has earned widespread critical acclaim and multiple industry honors, including the Shogakukan Manga Award, with more than 1.5 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The newly released teaser visual and promotional video introduce Hiroto, a carefree 29-year-old with little concern for the future, standing outside the modest home he unexpectedly inherits after befriending his elderly neighbor. Accompanied by the tagline “Where a house becomes a home,” the visual captures the series’ gentle tone in which friends and neighbors, each navigating their own struggles, gather around Hiroto and find comfort in his easygoing presence.

VIZ Media describes Hirayasumi as follows:
At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
