The Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 Remakes Will Arrive in 2024, Per Sony

Metal Gear Solid 3 Silent Hill 2 Remake

While Konami has yet to officially announce release dates for the remakes of Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3, Sony has apparently let the cat out of the bag. In a preview post of games to look forward to in 2024, PlayStation lists both titles as arriving this year.

Konami announced the remake of Silent Hill 2 in October 2022. Bloober Team will helm the project, developed in Unreal Engine 5. While the game will likely come to other platforms, it will have PlayStation 5 exclusivity for 12 months upon release.

On the 2024 blog post, PlayStation describes Silent Hill 2 as “a master class in psychological horror – lauded as the best in the series – recreated for PlayStation 5 with chilling visuals and visceral audio.”

As for Metal Gear Solid 3, the remake is entitled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Konami announced it this past May. Rumors of a remake of the game swirled for some time. A PlayStation Showcase last year finally confirmed the development of the remake of the beloved Metal Gear title. And while Sony champions the game on PlayStation 5, it will also release on Xbox One and PC.

The PlayStation 2024 blog says that Metal Gear Solid Delta “re-envisages the immersive stealth action gameplay of the PS2 classic with modern audio-visual design, returning players to the riveting world of Metal Gear.”

Perhaps Konami will confirm a release date shortly. For now, we at least have Sony’s window of 2024 announced for these two upcoming games. Of course, Konami could always choose to delay them, as the blog does mention. But encouragingly, it does confirm that “all featured titles scheduled for release in 2024.”
