On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the pre-air special stage for the MARRIAGETOXIN anime was held at Anime Japan 2026 Tokyo, Japan. The stage featured seven of the star-studded cast members, including Haruki Ishiya, voice of Hikaru Gero, Shion Wakayama, voice of Mei Kinosaki, as well as Anna Nagase, Asaki Yuikawa, Soma Saito, Hinano Shirahama, and Simba Tsuchiya. The voice cast came together to discuss all of the elements they are looking forward to as the anime streaming date draws near.
Each of the voice actors commented on their favorite parts of the 2nd PV, which was released on March 23rd. “The action is so strong,” “Each heroine is depicted with their unique charms – they’re so cute!” and Soma Saito spoke about the music in the PV, stating “it’s so stylish.”
Simba Tsuchiya was so impressed by the quality of the action scenes, emphasizing, “I was floored! This is Bones Film!” Shirahama praised how cohesive the PV was, commenting, “I thought that everyone’s close-ups were so appealing and cute. I love it so much I’ve watched it like 30 times already.”
During a segment called, “Who is the Strongest Presentation Master?!,” each cast member gave a 30-second presentation about their character’s most appealing qualities..
Ishiya, voice of Hikaru Gero, was up first, and gave an exactly 30 second presentation about the “gap between coolness and cuteness” that Gero possesses – such as being the heir to the Gero lineage, one of the Top Five Families, but also nervous around women and loving DIY candy. Wakayama, voice of Mei Kinosaki, said, “They are a skilled marriage swindler but they’re also a great advisor!” and, “I love that they can properly correct Gero when he needs it, and all of their clothes and hairstyles are great too!” She ran out of time because she has so much love for Kinosaki.
Anna Nagase, voice of Kyoko Himekawa, said “beyond cool” as her charm, and praised her as a “modern-day Robin Hood.” Asaki Yuikawa, voice of Shiori Ureshino, called her a “hard worker” and, although she is often shy and quiet, “it’s so endearing to watch her transform as she meets Gero and strives to become stronger and stand up for herself more.” Soma Saito, voice of Genya Naruko, used up his entire 30 seconds, and used Naruko’s words to express his gratitude to the fans at the venue by saying, “hella grateful, hella grateful, hella grateful!” Hinano Shirahama, voice of Kimie Arashiyama, put her all into her presentation, just as Arashiyama is always putting her all into everything. Whether she’s crying or smiling, she’s always “giving her all to support Hikaru Gero.” Simba. Tsuchiya, voice of Piichi Nakagawa, began his presentation with a picture of a peach, and acted as if he was telling a folk story, causing the venue to erupt in laughter and confusion. He ended by talking about his character’s best feature: “Piichi has a great heart.”
Despite the strict time limit that was enforced by a gong when time was up, each cast member spoke passionately about their unique characters. The audience voted on the winner by applause, and Ishiya was chosen as the “Strongest Presentation Master.”
At the end, the cast gave words of gratitude to the fans who are awaiting the premiere on April 7, and the stage came to a close to a thundering applause.

“You will see a lot of quirky, funny, cool, and cute characters. The voice actors are working their hardest, and the production team is creating beautiful and intense visuals. I believe this will speak to your hearts, thank you for your support!”
Wakayama:
“I love the original work so I’m so happy I can be a part of this. I haven’t seen the finished product yet, so I am awaiting the broadcast as well. I know that a project that is full of love awaits us all, so I am increasing my love and my excitement to watch MARRIAGETOXIN together with all of you.”
MARRIAGETOXIN is written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda. The series is currently serialized on Shueisha’s manga app Shonen Jump+ and will begin airing as a TV anime on Crunchyroll on April 7, 2026.
