Stagecrowd to Stream matsuri ’25 featuring YOASOBI, ATARASHII GAKKO!, and Ado

By Josh PiedraMarch 28, 2025

Stagecrowd will stream “matsuri ’25: Japanese Music Experience LOS ANGELES” to overseas audiences. Three acts garnering attention on the global music scene —Ado, ATARASHII GAKKO!, and YOASOBI—performed at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, U.S., on Sunday, March 16th (local time).

YOASOBI, who played at Coachella last year, opened the show. They performed several hits, including their debut song “Into the Night” (Yoru ni Kakeru), the first Japanese song to have 1.1 billion streams. The energy and enthusiasm of the audience peaked during the final song “Idol” with the synchronized shouts of “oi!”.

Next up was ATARASHII GAKKO!, a four-member dance and vocal unit who drew a total of 110,000 fans on their world tour last year, and also performed at Coachella. They performed 11 songs non-stop, debuting their new songs “One Heart” and “Free Yourself,” as well as “Otona Blue,” which has over 3.3 billion views on TikTok.

The final performer was Ado, the 22-year-old singer with devoted fans worldwide, and is set to embark on one of the largest world tours ever for a Japanese artist, with performances in over 30 cities around the world for over 500,000 people. Performing against a backdrop of animation on a large screen, she performed a total of 10 songs, including her big hits “Show,” “New Genesis” and “Usseewa.” In “Aishite Aishite Aishite,” Ado and the fans sang their hearts out together, bringing the atmosphere to its peak.

The full concert will be broadcast uncut for international audiences on Stagecrowd from 6:00pm on Saturday, March 29th (JST), In Japan, delayed screening will be available on WOWOW and at cinemas nationwide.

In addition, from Saturday, March 29th, the concert will be available on Stagecrowd for two weeks after the initial broadcast.

The performers have offered some comments about the upcoming matsuri ’25 event.

matsuri '25

Q: What are your thoughts on the event?

A: It was so much fun! It was like a dream to be able to perform on the same stage with some of my favorite groups, YOASOBI, and ATARASHII GAKKO!. I hope we were able to create an unforgettable night for everyone who came to the event.

Q: What would you say are the highlights of this performance?

A: For my live performance, we’ve put together a set list that is both classic and ambitious. There are also songs with choreography and song arrangements that have been further modified from previous live performances, so I think it will be worth seeing.

Q: Please give a message to those who will be watching the video of this performance.

A: I think it was a very worthwhile performance for everyone who came to the venue, as well as for those who will be watching it for the first time.

And of course, the performances by YOASOBI and ATARASHII GAKKO! were also fantastic.

I hope you will take a moment to enjoy this special evening created by these three acts!

Comments from ATARASHII GAKKO!

Q: What are your thoughts on the event?

A: We had a great time performing overseas for the first time this year! Los Angeles is filled with encounters and memories for us, as it is a place where we lived together and made our EP. We are very happy to have been able to perform here with Japanese artists! We look forward to seeing each of our unique forms of energy continue to resonate throughout the world.

Q: What would you say are the highlights of this performance?

A: We performed two songs for the first time live, our new song “One Heart,” which was released this month, and our latest song “Free Yourself,” which was only just released! There are also other highlights that you can only see at this event! Please enjoy our coming-of-age story in LA!

Q: Please give a message to those who will be watching the video of this performance.

A: Exchanging energy with everyone in LA was a lot of fun and exciting. We hope you enjoy the high-quality, high-resolution, large-screen, high-volume images of the three Japanese acts performing together overseas!

We also look forward to seeing you at one of our live performances in the future!

Comments from YOASOBI

Q:What are your thoughts on the event?

A:As YOASOBI, we’ve never had the chance to perform at an event with other artists outside of music festivals, so it was really fun. I think we did a good job of warming up the crowd for the next act, ATARASHII GAKKO!, by performing as the opening act.

Although we don’t see a clear distinction between overseas and Japan, after doing our best, we would be happy if our music could be heard by people all over the world, and we want to reach as many people as possible. It was also a real pleasure to have so many people come to see us in the U.S. this time.

Q:What would you say are the highlights of this performance?

A:We put a lot of thought into wardrobe.

The theme was pure white, pristine.

We created the wardrobe with the idea of bringing the J-POP we’ve been working on to everyone in LA in its purest, unadorned form, and connecting with them through music.

Q:Please give a message to those who will be watching the video of this performance.

A:I don’t think there are many opportunities to see us perform in LA, so I hope you’ll enjoy the energy of the show, which is different from that in Japan, and the communication with the audience.
