Sifu Developers Rematch Releases June 19 And is Coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Rematch

Many were stunned when Sloclap, developers of the well-received action game Sifu, unveiled their next game at the most recent Game Awards in December was not a follow-up to that title or even something more akin to it. Instead, the team showed off Rematch, an online 4-vs-4 or 5-vs-5 arcade style soccer/football game. Featuring players in a small arena doing fancy footwork and pulling off some big time shots. While defenders were seen sliding all over the place taking out players with reckless abandon.

At the time of its announcement, the reveal trailer only stated a release window of Summer 2025. Sloclap released a new trailer during the Triple-i Initiative showcase titled “The Golden Rules” and at the end of it, there was a release date of June 19 along with a logo for Xbox Game Pass as well.

Rematch Open Beta and Pre-Order Details

Aspiring players can go to the Rematch website and pre-register for a chance at getting into several planned open betas, with the first one set to take place next week between April 18-19 for Steam/PC users.

Pre-orders are available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation in three different pricing formats.

The Standard Edition retails for $29.99 and comes with the base game and an “early adopter” Sloclap cap.

The Pro Edition goes for $39.99 and includes the Standard Edition item plus early access for 72 hours, a Captain Pass Upgrade Ticket which helps get you into a higher tier of ranking thus making unlocking Battle Pass rewards much easier. There’s also a Blazon player background and title for the ultimate player card, along with a Blazon jewel set and Blazon Buckler tank top as well.

Finally, The Elite Edition is $49.99 and includes the aforementioned Standard and Pro Edition items along with a second Captain Pass Upgrade ticket, Glitcher trainers (shoes) for your character. Along with a Blazon Augmented Reality Cage and a Digital Blazon cap.

Regardless of which edition you choose, Rematch is gearing up to be an exciting blend of simulation soccer with an arcade edge when it launches on June 19.
