New look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Poison Ivy’s return confirmed

DC Comics and Rocksteady have dropped a new trailer for the upcoming Superhero game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which will be released in 2024 after being delayed several times.

In this new episode, many new gameplay elements are shown, as well as information on several support characters such as Toyman, Penguin, Gizmo, and Hack, who will assist players by providing upgrades. Rocksteady also confirms the rumors of a character who many thought was killed in the 2015 title, Arkham Knight, Poison Ivy.

However, a tiny bit of Poison Ivy survived and was taken in by Lex Luthor’s Lexcorp to make weapons and make her return as a child. Adding to that last bit, rumors were floating around that she would return, and with this episode,  Rocksteady has confirmed that Poison Ivy will indeed be returning.

There has been some concern concerning Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice, but I’ve come around after watching this and the prior video. Sure, it’s a bit different than what we’re used to from Rocksteady, which gives me some pause. Still, trying new stuff is always worthwhile, and I”‘m looking forward to giving the game a try when it drops next year. If anything, that’s one more coop game to play with my friends, and this seems like a worthwhile opportunity.

Set in the Arkham universe (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight, Arkham Origins Blackgate), Brianic invades the Earth and starts to brainwash everyone, including several superheroes, Superman, Flash, Batman, and Green Lantern.  This causes Amanda Waller to form Task Force X, known as the Suicide Squad, along with a frustrated Wonder Woman, to free the heroes or take them and eventually Brainiac down.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on February 2, 2024, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). While the game will also be released for the PC on the Epic Games Store, it has been delayed on that storefront and will be released on March 5, 2024. Rocksteady hasn’t shared a reason for the delay but is offering refunds for those who preordered the game but don’t want to wait the extra month.
