MyAnimeList Reveals Final Lineup for Their 2025 Ultimate List of Manga Recommendations

By Josh PiedraMarch 31, 2025

MyAnimeList has unveiled the official list for the third annual “You Should Read This Manga 2025,” a global event designed to highlight exceptional new-and-upcoming manga available to the international fan. The final list, curated from 766 user nominated titles, features 77 unique manga series across four discovery categories.

This highly-anticipated event aims to spotlight recently published manga and connect fans worldwide with new stories that deserve more recognition on a global scale. For 2025, the project continues to serve as a cultural bridge between creators, publishers, and readers in over 240 countries and territories.

As an added incentive, MyAnimeList users who read 2 volumes of any title from the 2025 list during the campaign period will earn a time-limited profile badge.

This global manga discovery project was launched with the goal of inspiring fans around the world to explore lesser-known but highly recommended titles. The final list is created from user-submitted nominations, which allows fans to vote for up to 10 titles and include persuasive reasoning for why each title should be featured. Titles must have seen an overseas release in 2024, and have a Score and Popularity ranking below #50 on MyAnimeList to be eligible for nomination. The 2025 edition includes four curated categories:

  • You Should Read This Manga
  • Should Be an Anime
  • Best for Beginners
  • Unique Art/Story
