Mortal Shell II has a lot of mechanics and features to learn, and many of them are vital to improving your chances of surviving the game’s dangerous world. One of these is upgrading your weapons, which can only be done using the Tarforge in Marrow Keep. However, you’ll first need to give an NPC a specific item to unlock this ability.
If you’ve reached Marrow Keep and spoken with Franz, you’ll notice that he’s looking for an item to get the Tarforge up and running properly. If you missed this vital item during the opening hours, we’ll tell you exactly what you need and where to find it below. Here’s how to repair the Tarforge in Mortal Shell II.
How To Repair The Tarforge In Mortal Shell II
To repair the Tarforge, you’ll need an item called the Muradean Actuator. This item can be found very early in the game during the prologue.
Obtaining the Muradean Actuator only requires you to reach the game’s first beacon, Village Outskirts, and choose to cleanse it. Immediately upon entering, you’ll find a chest you can open that contains this extremely important upgrade item.
Once you’ve obtained the Muradean Actuator, take it to Franz, who you’ll find beside the Tarforge in Marrow Keep. Hand it over to him, and you’ll be able to upgrade your weapons using the Tarforge.
Note: If you didn’t grab this item during the prologue, don’t fret, as you’ll be able to return later in the game after unlocking fast travel between beacons. Once you’ve obtained enough Ovum from cleansing beacons, you’ll be able to use the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep to obtain Mether’s Breath. With this item, you’ll be free to teleport from beacon to beacon, allowing you to revisit the Village Outskirts beacon at any time.
