“Who will global K-pop lovers crown as the artist of 2025?”

Berriz

Berriz, the global K-culture platform created by Kakao Entertainment, is kicking off voting for the “Berriz Global Fans’ Choice” award at the upcoming Melon Music Awards 2025 (MMA2025), aiming to spotlight the most globally beloved K-pop star of the year.

Voting, open exclusively to fans outside Korea, is set to take place in the “MMA2025 with Berriz” community until 23:59 on Dec. 14 (KST). “Berriz Global Fans’ Choice” is a popularity award launched this year, which will unveil its winner at the upcoming MMA scheduled for Dec. 20 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The winner will be decided based on global fan votes and expert evaluation.

The nominees include 20 teams: aespa, ALLDAY PROJECT, BABYMONSTER, BOYNEXTDOOR, DAY6, G-DRAGON, Hearts2Hearts, ILLIT, IVE, IU, JENNIE, KiiiKiii, MEOVV, NCT DREAM, NCT WISH, PLAVE, RIIZE, ROSÉ, Stray Kids and ZEROBASEONE. Since all of them made waves worldwide with their musical prowess and glamorous performances in 2025, the competition for the crown is expected to be cutthroat.

In line with the voting, Berriz plans to hold a special event for its users. To take part in the event, those who complete the vote after joining the “MMA2025 with Berriz” fan community should share their verification photo and the designated hashtag on their X account. Selected winners will receive tickets to experience MMA2025 on site.

Since its inauguration in 2009, MMA, K-pop’s largest awards ceremony, has annually honored the year’s best-performing artists based on objective data from the Melon streaming platform, user votes, and expert evaluations. This year, it will take place under the slogan “Play The Moment,” aiming to bring together all the moments and stories connected to and captured through music.

“MMA2025 with Berriz” has been playing a pivotal role in uniting fans awaiting the upcoming extravaganza, raising their expectations sky-high. The community shares the latest updates on MMA including the artist lineup and official teasers, while offering a range of content such as legendary performances that have defined the MMA to date. It also hosts diverse fan events, posting daily questions that let them share their music-related stories and experiences.

Berriz itself is a global K-culture fan platform that brings together fans of all kinds of K-culture IP from artists and creators to dramas, films, webtoons and musicals. It is a new playground where they can interact closely with their beloved K-pop stars via livestreams, chat with lifelike AI personas modeled after their favorite drama characters, and explore witty keywords generated from their own comments. With the recent introduction of Berriz Shop, a custom-made online fan store offering official merchandise from various K-culture IPs, Berriz plans to deliver a differentiated commerce journey in addition to its fandom experience.
