Marvel Studios Officially Unveils Fantastic Four Cast and Logo

By Todd BlackFebruary 14, 2024
Fantastic Four First Steps

Depending on who you believe, the MCU is either “fine” or it “will bounce back soon.” Or, you could argue that it’s “dying” due to the quality of certain movie and TV projects. Regardless of your position, things are being made in the MCU still, and 2025 could be a big bounce back year if things go as planned. One of the things they’re hoping to pin things on is the MCU debut of the Fantastic Four. Ever since Marvel bought back the media rights to the characters, fans have been awaiting their arrival. To that end, Marvel Studios have not only dropped the logo for the film, but announced the main cast.

You can see the first “cast photo” below, and you’ll notice it’s not what you would expect:

If you can’t tell, the cast is Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (AKA Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm (AKA The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (AKA The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (AKA The Thing).

While Pascal and Kirby had been rumored for their roles for some time, it remained to be seen if this was going to be the real deal. Turns out, it was, and the image above highlights a rather “60s look” for the film. Many are speculating this could be a “period piece film,” which would be curious in many respects. But until Marvel weighs in on that, we’ll need to be careful of predictions.

One key thing to note about the Fantastic Four reveal is that the release date has been swapped with the other 2025 MCU film, The Thunderbolts. Now, the “first family of Marvel” will debut on July 25th, 2025.
