Japan Reveals its Top Ten Anime of the Spring Season

By Josh PiedraApril 23, 2025

With the Spring anime season already a quarter of the way over with, Japanese anime watchers have made their voices heard as to which of this season’s shows are catching their attention the most! The list was compiled by NicoNico’s video distribution service and was based on the total number of live broadcast views and accesses.

The date range sampled for the list was April 1 through April 17.

Below are the Top 10 Spring anime of the season, according to NicoNico. Did any of the shows you’re watching make the list? (none of mine did!)

  1. Gag Manga Biyori Go
  2. Witch Watch
  3. Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty
  4. Once Upon a Witch’s Death
  5. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX
  6. Catch Me at the Ballpark!
  7. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
  8. Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers
  9. Lazarus
  10. I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!
