One of the strangest puzzles in the latest Capcom game is the Resident Evil Requiem Sun Moon Star conundrum. There are three different cubes to obtain, so you can unlock the way to the courtyard. Thankfully, it’s easier than it may seem if you find the right clues along the adventure into the horrific setting.
How to Solve the Resident Evil Requiem Sun Puzzle

The Sun Puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem is located in the Lead Researcher’s Office on the second floor. It’s on the Eastern Wing up the stairs that are east of the Waiting Room and south of the Blood Lab. Once you go inside, you’ll realize a blue padlock annoyingly locks the sun puzzle. We’ll need to find the Corrosive that’s thankfully in a nearby area: the Conference Room. It’s to the west of the Lead Researcher’s Office but be ready. There are plenty of enemies in store for you.
There is a screaming zombie inside the office. Hit it a few times with your bullets in the head, push it over, and then try to grab the Corrosive blue bottle in the office to the right, avoiding the multiple zombies that encroach on poor Grace. After a brief cutscene, head back to the office, and you’ll see the Sun Puzzle in the corner. Interact with it and use the Corrosive to melt the lock away.
To solve the Sun Puzzle, look at the office table. There are pictures of the scientists behind this awful project. In three of the photos, you’ll recognize the symbols in the background. The third photo is on the side table.
The code is:
- Star
- Sun
- Moon
- Sun
Once the door opens, grab the Sun Quartz and the notepad inside. The secondary item is very important for the Organ Transport Box later.
How to Solve the Resident Evil Requiem Moon Puzzle
Once you’ve grabbed the photos from the Lead Researcher’s Office, it should be easy to unlock the Moon Puzzle. If you haven’t dealt with the zombies nearby the Sun Puzzle, shoot them in the head a few times and push them over to save bullets. While you play as Grace, make sure to save as many bullets as possible (and save often). Also, make sure to break the pots you see along the way as they can hold ammo inside.
The Moon Puzzle is located on the West ward’s second floor in the Chairman’s Office. Go to the top left section of the west ward to find the stairs. It’s nearby the Filing Room and north of the Restroom. Before moving forward, you may want to consider storing the Sun Quartz in the Save Room’s storage box.
Once you head into the Chairman’s Office, you’ll find the Moon Puzzle in the corner. The code you’ll need if you look at one of the photos from the Lead Researcher’s Office is:
- Moon
- Sun
- Star
- Moon
Now that you have the two Quartz, there is one more to go.
How to Get the Last Quartz
To reach the last Quartz, you will need to progress through the story until you find the Level III keycard to unlock Emily from the cell. With the Level II keycard, head to the East Ward and unlock the door to the east of the Examination Room and south of the Blood Lab. This gives you access to the Isolation Ward. Go to the Security Manager’s Office to the right of the map. The book on the left of the table where the Chairman lies dead has the code, but…. there’s a catch. It’s in braille. We need Emily’s help to decipher it.
Take the Level III keycard from the Chairman’s hand and head back to the girl in the Medication Room. Take her to the Security Manager’s Office to continue the story. After a series of events, you’ll be able to save Emily and gain the third and last Quartz.
With all three Quartz in hand (remember that they’re in storage if you took them to the box to save room in your inventory) and go to the Central Hall. Place all three Quartz in the Door with Indents, and you’ll be able to reach the Courtyard…finally. You now have finished the annoying Resident Evil Requiem Sun Moon Star puzzle.
Just make sure you’ve collected and done everything in the care center before leaving. You can get Antique Coins from safes and unlock bonuses from the Coin Cabinet in the Parlor. Also, make sure to get stocked up on Ammo with the Infected Blood around the area. The Pantry on the left side also has 12.7x55mm Ammo, and the Dining Room also has an Empty Bottle that can be used for a Molotov Cocktail later. There are other tips you should follow during this adventure.
