Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Open Beta Update and DLC Plans Revealed

By Kevin KellyFebruary 16, 2025
Fatal Fury City of the wolves

SNK revealed the remaining details for the beta plays at the Evo Awards last night. 8 Characters will be here for the test drive on all systems.

The roster for the beta is as follows:

  • Vox Reaper
  • Mai Shiranui
  • Preecha
  • B Janet
  • Hotaru
  • Rock
  • Terry
  • Kain

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem any grappler-specific characters here, as Tizoc will be sitting this one out with his rival – Marco. From the look of things, Preecha and Vox will be the new characters to run with for the Muay Thai and Whatever-Grant-Used-In-The-First-Game style fix. The original boss character, Kain, will be joining in on the fun.

The beta will run from February 20 to Feb 25 on PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

As For The Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Year 1 DLC

SNK also confirmed that the earlier DLC leak was real. This means that Andy, Joe, and Mr. Big, will be coming to Southtown for the Maximum Meyhem Tournament in City of the Wolves. Chun-Li and Ken seem to be sporting their Street Fighter VI looks, in the concepts, so it could be a hint to what SNK will be bringing to the table for each character. Mai and Terry were done exceptionally well in Street Fighter VI to honor their kits old and new, including obscure moves only seen a couple of times within their respective series.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Year 1 DLC Potentially Leaked

For instance, Ken’s gameplay changes have done away with him being Ryu’s shoto shadow since the 3 series and has been evolving him ever since, including his attire. SNK attempted to utilize Chun-Li’s updated 3rd Strike kit in SVC Chaos, which could give out more potential for the character in her third SNK fighting game appearance. The dates seem to remain the same, also.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available on April 24th for PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox Series X | S, and Steam.
