Evo Japan: NeoGeoNow Demo Andy Bogard In Fatal Fury City Of the Wolves

By Kevin KellyMay 10, 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves‘ Andy is playable this weekend at Evo Japan 2025. Content creator NeoGeoNow has decided to show the class what it’s like to learn from the Shiranui style of martial arts. The second lone wolf returns since his Real Bout days. Ninjas never stay hidden for long when evil’s around, when it comes to fighting games. Andy’s ability to control space is paramount to his play style. Andy doesn’t usually seem to have many tricks in his gameplay compared to even his Evil self in Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, but this might change.

NeoGeoNow seems to be boots on the ground for Evo Japan 2025 this weekend. The build itself seems to call the opponent’s name twice, instead of Andy’s name, and a distinct Esports World Cup ad is here as a marquee. Perhaps this is just for the build to advertise the upcoming major. Andy gets to assume dominance against Mai Shiranui Bo… never mind, Billy, Terry, Rock, Tizoc, and B Jenet, to show off how his tools fare against the other Wolves era brawlers. His dialogue against these foes was telling, though I won’t spoil it for you.

Old, New, Some Borrowed, And Blue Fireballs

From a high level, Andy’s kit is his own with some of his The King Of Fighters moves in tow from previous games. Andy also possess his EX Andy based moves from Real Bout Fatal Fury, also.

His Hishou ken fireball can be done in the air now.  The Hishou Ken can become his Geki Hishou Ken, which gets multiple hits in for both air and ground. His Gen’ei Shiranui returns with some cool options, such as a grab attack. The Shoryuu Dan uppercut is also here with Andy. His signature Zan’ei Ken elbow hasn’t left his grasp despite Hokutomaru taking it in. Andy adds an additional move as his pushback. His Kuuha Dan can be used similarly to Hokutomaru’s with a brake for combo setups.

His Super move, the Chou Reppa Dan, is also here with a bit of an uppercut finisher and a potential Hishou Ken classic fireball finish. His Hidden Gear is the surprise. It’s as though he’s letting you hear the Earth before letting you really feel the pain. Kind of surprised to see this as his Level 3 compared to his other Shiranui style close kin. One of his supers does sport a purple flame. Andy’s been able to have a different color for the fire. This could be a hint to his “evil” self. According to his lore, Shiranuis has both light and dark sides to it, as per the Real Bout Special ending. This change could be his shadow trying to get out from time to time.

Andy will be let loose this Summer. After Joe Higashi is released this Fall, the 3 original hungry wolves of South Town can get to square off against their predecessors, Rock, Preecha, and Hokutomaru, in the City of the Wolves. There’s nothing quite like the old school taking on the new to see which class is the strongest. Andy’s official trailer has yet to be released at this time.
