EA SPORTS F1 25 Reveals an Extended First-Look Gameplay Video

By Jordan AndowApril 30, 2025

Electronic Arts has shared an extended first look at gameplay for EA SPORTS F1 25, an official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Hosted by F1 broadcaster Alex Jacques and F1 personality Matt Gallagher, the video takes an in-depth look at how F1 25 brings more realism and authenticity to the race weekend with new features including LIDAR-scanned circuits, additional real team radio calls, and refreshed podium celebrations. The Formula 1 aficionados also commentate on three reverse circuits, Silverstone, Zandvoort, and the Red Bull Ring, now available for the first time in Grand Prix, Time Trial, Multiplayer, and Career mode.

The video takes a close look at four of the five updated circuits, all of which benefit from increased track accuracy made possible through LIDAR scanning. Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka, and Imola feature an array of enhancements, including accurate building placements, safety barriers, TV cameras, marshal posts, advertising boards, and fan areas. Each circuit, scanned during F1 race weekends, delivers sub-centimetre accuracy to every bump and curve on the asphalt, allowing players to experience the most detailed circuits ever released in an F1 game.

“The tech behind LIDAR gives players unprecedented levels of detail, bringing them closer to each race weekend,” said Gavin Cooper, Creative Director at Codemasters. “Also, we’ve carefully selected the three reverse circuits to provide a unique and engaging experience for our players that feels polished, authentic, and fun. The process includes reworking DRS zones, retraining AI, recalibrating sector boundaries, repositioning the starting grid and pit lanes, and more, delivering new thrills and challenges.”

EA SPORTS F1 25 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 30, 2025.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
