Death Battle Gets “Hands-On” With Shigaraki vs Mahito!

By Todd BlackMarch 29, 2025
Shigaraki vs Mahito, Death Battle

Before you ask, yes, the Death Battle crew intentionally released Shigaraki vs Mahito a day early. I was as stunned as you are! But hey, it means we can watch it on a Saturday and not a Sunday, which is potentially a game-changer going forward! Regardless, this is a fight of truly horrifying anime villains, with each of them willing to get their…*ahem*…hands dirty…to make a point and to crush a foe. Whether it be through “Decay” or through soul manipulation, they are some of the toughest-to-kill anime villains in history, and that’s saying something.

What makes this Death Battle even more interesting is that the fight animation was made by Moro, who did the all-time great episode Bowser versus Eggman. This fight isn’t for the faint of heart, and yet, if you’re willing to endure the “horror,” Shigaraki vs Mahito might just be a fight you’ll want to watch repeatedly to notice all the subtle animation nuances. Check it out below:

And next time on Death Battle…it’s a match the fans personally voted on! During the DB Kickstarter, fans got the chance to pick a rematch fight, and it’s Master Chief vs. Doom Slayer! Finish the fight…as you rip and tear until it’s done!
