And now it’s time for the “weird gaming story of the day!” For this tale, we go to Capcom, where Ace Attorney producer Kenichi Hashimoto did an interview with Nintenderos and noted that if the beloved courtroom mystery series was ever to get another crossover, he’d be up for doing one with Detective Pikachu! Yes, this really happened, here’s the tweet to prove it:
While we have no plans to do so, I personally think a crossover with Pokémon would be fun – Detective Pikachu would be a perfect fit!
Given that Capcom and Nintendo have a friendly relationship and have done various crossovers in the past, and Nintendo has let Capcom develop some of their past series, like with The Legend of Zelda, nothing is technically out of reach here. Plus, when you look at the situation, Ace Attorney and Detective Pikachu could work if certain things were fleshed out. We’ll have to see how it goes.
