Remedy Entertainment dropped some big news at GDC 2026 today: CONTROL Resonant is coming in 2026, and it’s going all-in on NVIDIA’s latest RTX tech stack.
The sequel will launch with full DLSS 4.5 support, path-traced rendering, RTX Mega Geometry, and DLSS Ray Reconstruction. If you remember how jaw-dropping the original Control looked with ray tracing enabled, Remedy is clearly swinging for the fences again here.
On the technical side, Tatu Aalto, Technical Director of Graphics at Remedy, had this to say about the implementation, “DLSS 4.5 and Ray Reconstruction are giving players outstanding image quality alongside the performance headroom to actually enjoy the experience. Path-traced lighting, combined with RTX Mega Geometry, is how they’re pushing the dense world detail of CONTROL Resonant to the next level”.
As for the game itself, you’re stepping into the shoes of Dylan Faden, brother of FBC Director Jesse Faden. The story takes place across a ravaged Manhattan that’s been overrun by the Hiss, the Mold, and other paranatural threats that have broken containment from the Oldest House. Dylan’s kit includes telekinetic powers and a shapeshifting melee weapon called the Aberrant, and the environments sound appropriately reality-bending.
CONTROL Resonant was revealed during 2025 The Game Awards, and is being published by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing as part of their ongoing strategic partnership. The game is targeting PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Mac via Steam and the App Store, and GeForce NOW.
There’s no firm release window beyond 2026 yet, but given what Remedy is promising on the technical side, this one to follow. Especially if you enjoyed the first game.
