Fortnite OG Season ends with a BIG BANG & Concert

Over the last month, Fortnite players have been going through a bit of a nostalgia hit thanks to the Fortnite OG season.

During this season, players were brought back through time (Yes, there is a story to all this) to a recreation of specific maps from older seasons. Starting with a return to the map from Chapter 1 Season 5, then evolving through Season 6, Seasons 7 & 8, and ending with Seasons 9 & X. Over the course of these 4 weeks, we saw the return of classic event moments like Kven the Cube, a large purple glowing cube that appeared and lifted the island in the middle of Loot Lake (which became known as Loot Island) from the map exposing the “Zero point” (The mass of energy that makes the looping game mode of Fortnite possible), and also the meteor that would originally wipe out Dusty Depot.

This time around, events have been changed. In Fortnite lore, the character Jonesy (aka the Default Male Skin) was able to build a rocket that attached a time machine to it and altered some events in Fortnite lore. We skipped moments like the Kaiju vs Mech fight, Dusty Divot was already on the map, and the whole island got destroyed.

If you want to see The Big Bang event, you can view The Outerhaven writer Karl and his friends playing during The Big Bang event below, or click here for a non-commentary (or Karl’s horrible laugh) version. This event was experienced 3 times during the day due to over 10 million players flooding Fortnite servers per event time, crashing it during the second attempt and causing over an hour of queues to login to the game during the first. The third time was fine.

During the event, we see the main island sucked into a black hole-type space event, which was similar to the way this event happened the first time. But unlike last time, instead of waiting for days for a new announcement, the players are sucked into a multiverse zone, where we see new and exciting areas. Some of these areas include:

A new island completely made of LEGO! This new mode, which is set to debut on December 7th, will see Fortnite’s iconic building mode take on new life through those tiny bricks that hurt when you step on them. Not much is known about this mode right now, but we expect more to come as official word reaches us.

But that’s not all. We also get to see…

The much-hyped Racing Mode! This new mode will allow players to do Mario Kart-style racing through some of Fortnite’s more iconic areas. There will be power-ups, tricks, shortcuts, and much more to do in this mode… and it crosses over with Rocket League!

After seeing previews of the two new modes, players were thrown onto the stage where rapper Eminem appeared and did renditions of “Lose Yourself” and “Godzilla”… The poor animators who had to do the lip sync for the animated Eminem during Godzilla… You also got a chance to see the new Rockband style mode that is coming to the game as well in an interactive segment of the songs.

Then it was all over. Players were thrown out of the concert and back into the multiversal void where they waited for a moment, looking at clues as to what was coming in Chapter 5 Season 1 before exiting the game one last time.

So what is to come in Chapter 5 Season 1? Well, take a look for yourself at the trailer above. The theme of the Season is “Underground” with a story featuring a kidnapped Peely being rescued by Jonesy and other characters. You’ll see new areas of the map, a loot train, weapon mods, and hits at some of the upcoming skins… Want some clues?

Yes, we are getting Solid Snake in Fortnite! (Confirmed by David Hayter on X/Twitter)

That indeed is a buff Peter Griffin from Family Guy

Could that be a hint at a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab in the future? I think it is.

Tell us if you spot anything else in the trailer that we might have missed. So with all that done, I have one thing left to ask…. Where are we dropping boys!?
