How To Bypass The Resident Evil Village PC Demo Timer

By Keith MitchellMay 3, 2021
resident evil village

Capcom has released the final Resident Evil Village demo, which is available for the PlayStation and Xbox consoles and the PC. This is fantastic news for my fellow PC gamers for some specific reason – we can do all sorts of things we can’t do with the console versions. One such thing is the ability to remove the rather restrictive time limit that Capcom has placed on the demo. For the final demo, you only have 60 minutes to do as much as you want before you’re locked out, and that’s a bummer.

However, PC players can get around this by either changing a setting or using a program called a trainer, which lets you do a variety of different things. One such thing is to remove the timer from the demo. Mind you, it also has a bunch of other stuff that I don’t recommend you doing, but that’s my opinion.

Using Steam Achievement Manager to bypass the timer

  1. Before you do anything, you’re going to want to disable the cloud saves for the Resident Evil Village demo. To do this, open up Steam, right-click on the game and go to properties. Then uncheck the “keep game saves in the steam cloud.”
  2. Delete any game saves for the demo you may already have.
  3. Download the Steam Achievement Manager, extract it to a location, and then open the program.
  4. You’ll be shown a list of achievements from the game. This is how the game tracks how long you’ve played the game. You’ll want to check them all and then select “Reset.”
  5. The program will ask you a few times if you’re sure you want to reset the achievements. Just continue to tell it yes until the task is done.
  6. Enjoy another hour of gameplay in the demo.

Using a trainer to bypass the timer

A faster way to disable the timer is to use what’s called a trainer. Trainers are applications that enable gamers to do various things in games, such as granting invincibility, more in-game currency, and more. You may be tempted to use all those, but we’re going to use a trainer to bypass the timer for now.

While I don’t recommend using trainers, this process is much easier and faster than the first method.

  1. Download the FLiNG Resident Evil Village trainer.
  2. Once downloaded, extract the trainer into a folder.
  3. Start the Resident Evil Village PC demo.
  4. Once the game is running, start the trainer and select “Freeze Demo Play Time.” You’ll hear a noise once the option is enabled.
  5. Enjoy the demo without worrying about the pesky time limit.

There you go, two ways to bypass the timer and enjoy the demo longer than Capcom intended.  Here’s some other Resident Evil Content for you to enjoy while you’re here.
