Thanks to COVID-19 (aka #1 on the Top 10 Anime Betrayals list), Tokyo Comic Con has decided to take the path that so many other conventions around the world have taken: going virtual.
The event that was scheduled for April of this year has been pushed back to December 4-6. The event will live stream from the Makuhari Messe Hall, the original location for the live physical event.
As of now, details are sparse as to what they are looking to offer but the event seems to be going forward with a celebrity wing, a cosplay wing, an artist alley, an exhibition area, and something labeled as an “EC Area.” There will be premium content that you need to pay for; however, the aforementioned areas will be free to anyone who wishes to view them. The premium content isn’t that expensive either as it will only set you back 500 Yen, or about $4.73 USD.
