Riot Games announced that 2XKO will be getting new updates to the title. As a matter of fact, they’ve released a trailer to discuss them. Combofiend and Clockwork jumped on the tube to explain how the system works.
2XKO Teamfight Tag, You’re In
Teamfight will be that new Fuse that’s forthcoming. The new Fuse allows both members of the team to fight simutaneously for 7 seconds and requires both characters to have one bar of meter each. It’s Marvel vs Capcom‘s Duo Team Attack or even Street Fighter EX3’s similar mechanic in its’ execution with certain rules in place to make it different.
- While in Teamfight mode, you lose access to Team actions like Tag Launcher, Assists, and Break . You also cannot use Ultimates while the Fuse is active for your team.
- As a defender, any hit landed on a Teamfighting duo reduces the Teamfight timer .
If a defender lands a successful Ultimate (on the Point or Assist champ), it ends the Teamfight immediately.- A Teamfighting Assist character only hits mids , meaning the offensive team has to work harder for creative offense.
From the videos themselves, this does ring true to the chaos that is in a tag fighter. Even a one-man team can use Teamfight, but would need to switch up by pressing the Tag button. The tagged character will be a different color with blue highlights.
Find A Buddy
Duo Voice Chat and Duo Finder are also coming with the May 12th update which could help with tag fighting. Especially in 2 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 scenarios, both players can use this feature.
Once you’re in the duo together, you can enable in-game voice chat , allowing you to coordinate your Teamfight plays in real time. Open Settings > Text & Voice Chat, then turn on “Duo Voice Chat.” After that, you’ll automatically enter voice chat with teammates, as long as they also have the setting enabled.
Letting The Audience Drive
Replay Takeover is also coming to 2XKO through the patch. For a tag game like this, with alot going on, it’s hard to fathom being able to rewatch fights and stop to participate in them. Riot Games has done it, though with something that might be pretty seamless. Modern challenges require modern solutions.
