Rolling Stone Dubs Breath of the Wild As The Greatest Game Ever

There is definitely a case to be made!

The Legend of Zelda Mobile Game - The Outerhaven Breath of the Wild 2

Sometimes, you just know a game is going to be special from the moment you see it. When Nintendo finally pulled back the curtain on The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, gamers knew instantly that this would be a title that surpassed all that came before it in the franchise. Sure enough, not only did it help start the Nintendo Switch craze (as it was the “killer app” at launch,) but it truly redefined what this franchise could be, and many still hold it in high esteem to this day.

That apparently includes Rolling Stone, who made a new “Best Video Games of All Time” list and put Breath of the Wild as the No.1 game. They cited various reasons for this pick being No.1, including the freedom it gave players, the way that Hyrule was filled with things to do without being tied to the main temples/dungeons, and just being a “revolutionary” game in general.

If you’re curious what made the top ten of their list, just check out the tweet below:

Rolling Stone's Top 10 Greatest Video Games of All Time (from their new Top 50 list)

1) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2) Tetris
3) Grand Theft Auto V
4) Super Mario World
5) The Last of Us
6) Half-Life 2
7) Metal Gear Solid
8) Final Fantasy VII
9) The Elder Scrolls V:… pic.twitter.com/jv0g1e3pNt
