Platinum Games Celebrates Bayonetta Anniversary While Teasing Future Projects

What could they make, we wonder...?

Bayonetta - winking at you, Platinum Games

When you are a developer that has “name-brand recognition,” you are clearly doing something right. It means that you’ve released titles that have sold well, been reviewed well, and have charmed the masses to the point that they want more. Platinum Games has been a unique studio over the years, often pushing the boundaries of gameplay, storylines, visual styles, main characters, and everything in between. Lately, they have been a bit quieter, but today, they piped on their official website to talk about the 15th anniversary of Bayonetta.

In it, the studio honored the title and the amazing 15 years they’ve had with her, while also teasing what future projects they might be up to:

In 2009, we were able to deliver a brand-new action experience with the release of Bayonetta, which is a title that we are still very proud of to this day. Moving forward, we will continue to take on new challenges to create games that surprise and delight our fans. We look forward to your continued support of Bayonetta and PlatinumGames!

Those are interesting comments for multiple reasons. First, it implies that they’re moving forward with various games or IPs. Second, that statement makes it clear that another title featuring the Umbra Witch is coming, which is odd, because Hideki Kamiya was the man behind the franchise for the most part, and he’s no longer at the studio.
