Is A Nintendo Direct Just Days Away?

Here we go again...
By Todd BlackJanuary 30, 2025
Nintendo Direct Mini

It’s been a very interesting time to be a fan of Nintendo. Two weeks back, they dropped the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, and people have been buzzing about it ever since. However, the OG Switch is still alive and kicking, and many expect The Big N to do something for it soon to highlight how much it still has to offer before the transition happens. To that end, there’s a new rumor going around Reddit that a Nintendo Direct is happening on February 4th. Shall we dive down this rabbit hole?

Now, unlike many previous rumors/guesses about the Directs of the past, this one seems to have some evidence backing it up. First, Nintendo seems to love February 4th/5th to host one of their presentations, so that works out. Plus, fans discovered that there is maintenance scheduled for that date on the Switch. For those unaware, Redditors pointed out that Nintendo almost always does Switch maintenance before a Direct drops. So, that’s two pieces of info that seem to highlight what’s likely to happen.

The Switch does have games still coming out, and the Nintendo Direct would likely focus on them and give some key release dates. Either way, we know that April 2nd is when the Switch 2 Direct will drop and reveal what the system will have coming out. Thus, the early months of 2025 could truly be a “heavenly period” for Switch fans.
