Guilty Gear Strive: Venom Delayed, New DLC Map Revealed

By Kevin KellyJanuary 17, 2025
Guilty Gear Map

With Team of 3 Mode out in the wild, the Daredevils of Guilty Gear Strive will be out of a veteran for a couple more months. Venom will be moved to March’s end instead of his originally planned release date.  Other DLC characters for the year, including Unika from the Guilty Gear Strive anime, and guest characters Cyberpunk: Edgerunner‘s Lucy, will still be in Spring and Summer 2025 respectively. According to producer Ken Miyauchi and his announcement today, the following DLCs will not be affected by the delay:

Today, we would like to share an update regarding the release timing for the new character, Venom. While the release was initially planned for early 2025, in order to provide the character at the best quality possible, we have changed plans for the release to after ARC WORLD TOUR Finals 2024, scheduled for March 21 to 23, 2025.

The development team came to this conclusion after extensive discussion, in order to secure enough time to provide the best game experience possible to the players.
We offer our sincere apologies for the extended wait and our gratitude to everyone for your understanding and support through this.

Regarding the highly-requested improvements to the Network Mode and addition of new features to Training Mode, the team is currently at work on development with your feedback in mind.
We expect these features to require additional time. We will provide additional news on the schedule for these updates once more details are available. Thank you for your continued patience.

Important Notice:
The release of Additional Character Venom, originally planned for Early 2025, will be changed to late March in order to provide the best quality possible.

Venom will not be coming in before the Arc World Tour 2024‘s conclusion in March. Guilty Gear Strive is joined by Under Night: In Birth 2, and Grandblue Fantasy Versus Rising, as part of the $75,000 USD finals pool. Tickets for the Shine Expo Hall, LA finals are on sale at the time of this writing.
