Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth Confirmed For Nintendo Switch 2?

As we reported not too long ago, the rumors and leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2 have gotten so out of hand that Nintendo itself had to swat down certain reports that came out during CES 2025. Is that stopping the rumors and reports from coming out about the system? Of course not! In fact, leaker “NatetheHate” is continuing them by stating how Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth might be coming to the Switch 2 and Xbox. As noted by Stealth on Twitter, the first game would arrive this year with the sequel following up in 2026.

According to NatetheHate, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth are coming to Xbox & Switch 2.

So, why are we reporting on this particular rumor? That’s simple. Square Enix went through a massive “restructuring” last year and promised that it would do its best to bring its games to all players. That would certainly imply getting it on systems that don’t have it already, which in this case is only the PS4/PS5 and PC (with Rebirth about to drop on Steam this month.) The Nintendo Switch 2 has plenty of hype behind it, and if the console is along the lines of the PS4 or up in power, it would be able to handle these games rather well. As in all things, though, don’t believe this report until it’s confirmed by Nintendo.
