Disney Animation Studio has partnered with animator Gensho Yasuda to create two anime shorts for the Moana 2 film which was released back on November 27 in the U.S. as well as on December 6 in Japan.
Gensho Yasuda previously directed Make a Girl and was tasked with featuring recreations of moments from Moana 2 while using the songs “Beyond – Koete Yukuo” and “Return to the True Me,” both of which are performed by Yabiku China.
Yasuda commented on the opportunity:
“I have always been inspired by Disney works, so I was very happy to be asked to make a 3D short animation for Moana 2, a Disney work beloved all over the world.”
