Final Fantasy XVI Clive Slashes His Way Into Tekken 8

By Kevin KellyDecember 12, 2024
FFXVI Clive is Coming to Tekken 8

Square Enix and Namco Bandai strengthen their bonds yet again to get another Final Fantasy collaboration in the King of The Iron Fist saga. Final Fantasy XVI‘s Clive Rosefield will be joining Tekken 8.

Jin Kazama and Clive Rosenfield went fist to fist, and Eikon to Devil in the latest trailer from tonight’s Game Awards. Clive still gets his usual sword weapon, similar to Noctis’ Tekken 7 appearance. Unlike Noct, Clive’s world might be a bit more out there than Final Fantasy XV’s modern-day Insomnia. How does Clive show up? and what battle stage will he bring with him? Jin and Clive both have inner conflicts ahead of them with their inner strength.

It looks as though the stage is possibly the Phoenix Gate, which is where Clive finds out a bit more about his newfound abilities and has suffered great losses. The stage is probably about to be replaced mid-battle by a stage where Clive and Ifirit face off.Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8 Final Fantasy XVI Clive For Tekken 8Clive will possibly be using Eikon powers in heat to take on the tournament roster in Heat Mode. Ifrit will primarily be the first to be used, but perhaps we’ll see other Eikon abilities outside of fire to be used. Perhaps Titan’s to compete with Jack’s strength.

Tifa was more stated to be the most predictable Final Fantasy character to represent the series in Tekken 8 since she is a monk character capable of martial arts prowess. Also, Rebirth was just announced with a March release date for PC on the horizon. The logical point should be to her.

As Tekken is quite generous with the crossovers, it begs to question of what will happen with Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI. Who will be jumping in and how? Yoshimitsu’s done it in Soulcalibur, so it could be him.

Clive will be available for 72 hours in Tekken 8 starting December 16th. This is quite the way to go since Tekken 8’s win at the Game Awards this year. Season 2 will be starting this spring. Since Clive will end Season 1, Season 2 will start in the Spring.
